Longfield 1838 is a gorgeous, Georgian-style homestead with the charm of a rural farm cottage, nestled just 20 minutes from Goulburn and 45 minutes from Canberra. Named after the Irish county of Langfield, where the architect of the homestead — William Folliard — originated, this superb venue boasts a homely feel and outstanding hospitality.

 

The gardens surrounding the historic house are available to hire for your ceremony and a reception can be held 100m from the main house.

The Longfield 1838 team strive to offer clear and simple wedding packages that can be tailored to suit your individual needs and budget. Packages start from $2,500 and venue tours are available by appointment. The best way to get a feel for the venue is to come and see it in person and chat with your friendly venue managers. The team at Longfield are here to help you throughout the wedding planning process to create a stress - free,  memorable event with unique and special touches that reflect your individual values and preferences.

 

The venue offers ceremony only and ceremony + reception packages. A marquee will be provided, as well as tables and chairs, table settings, toilet facilities, parking, heating, lighting, a caterer's marquee, cool room and more! The passionate Longfield 1838 team will take care of venue set up and clean up and provide an on - site Venue Manager as well as drinks storage and service. They can be as involved as you want them to be when it comes to external suppliers. The team are happy to provide recommendations, but equally, you are welcome to choose your own suppliers too if you would prefer to take the creative reigns.

  • Rich history. Longfield 1838 was built in the 1840s by William Folliard — a widower from Northern Ireland. The foundations were constructed from solid stone carted by horse and sulky. In 1880 the new owners built stables. And in 1989, current owners — Peter and Robbie — restored the homestead to include new flooring and a gorgeous sunroom. Enveloped in history and hard work, this beautiful space won't disappoint.
