This beautiful property is only 1 1/2 hours south of Sydney and 2 hours north of Canberra - located within the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.
On arrival, on the day of your wedding, our friendly staff will meet you and be of assistance during your event. The reception rooms and suites at Retford park are tastefully furnished with antiques, paintings and garden flower arrangements along with open fire places and are the first impression that the setting for your wedding is a beautiful and elegant country house, much loved by all who visit.
GARDEN CEREMONIES:
The garden is a delight to wonder through. As you venture up the driveway the grand Victorian Italianate homestead appears from a towering arboretum of magnificent trees.
Surrounding the eastern side of the homestead is a patchwork of hedged gardens showcasing everything from a detailed knot garden, exquisite swimming pool and pavilion and sculptures You will be delighted with the sprawling parklands, formal gardens or secret spaces that will offer something different in each season resulting in a beautiful wedding ceremony.
THE ROUND YARD:
Our beautiful, rustic covered complexOnce upon a time round yards were only to be found on the properties of professional horse people.
They were very commonly used by race horse breakers and a few old bushies. This undercover arena is our wet weather option for your ceremony.
It has a rolled crushed granite floor and original white washed walls. The ceiling is corrugated iron with exposed wooden rafters which photograph so well.
Also, this yard can be requested for your ceremony even if its not inclement weather. You may prefer this alternative to a garden ceremony.
THE HOUSE:
There are three very unique reception rooms to enjoy within the house. The main hall is a romantic country space complete with large tapestry and polished wood floors. The morning room is of contemporary style displaying dramatic artworks and the sitting room has beautiful soft furnishings, sofas and a Chippendale bookcase. All spaces have open fires and doors that lead into the garden.
With sprawling parklands, formal gardens and breathtaking rural views your photographic opportunities are vast and will ensure outstanding wedding photos. You will have exclusive access to the entire property, which will provide many chances to capture perfect moments.
All receptions for up to 80 guests are enjoyed in the round yard . Our wedding coordinator will assist in you to select one of our preferred local caterers
